Learning languages online is fun

What can you do in the afternoon? You can do your homework, you can relax, be lazy or you can do POTENZIAMENTO COURSES in English, German and French - the choice is yours! Every year (usually in spring, but this year in November and December) the school plans a lot of activities in the afternoon and one of these is Potenziamento courses. The courses can start at 2:00 and finish at 4.00 or they start at 4:00 p.m. and finish at 6:00 p.m.. You improve the languages you study in class. German students learn more German and French students learn more French, but every student can learn more English, the international language.

I attended the English course for the second classes and we studied "Traditional Festivals in the UK". I discovered that there are also strange and funny festivals like "The Chili Festival" or "The Festival of Sleep", and that some festivals remind us of history like "Thanksgiving Day" or something important to remember like "The Odd-Socks Day". The teacher asked us to make a shared PowerPoint presentation, which we then presented to the whole class. This activity was very useful to start learning how to speak in front of an audience. Well, we started training for the eighth grade exams.

With the Potenziamento in German course for the second classes, we studied Germany with its sixteen "Bundesländer" (= regions) and its geography, rivers, mountains, seas… We learned the names of the states bordering Germany and to see if we had learned them, we had to do some tests. Moreover, our teacher showed us many videos online to make us understand better. We talked to the teacher a lot and we learned how to pronounce the language well.

I’m not a student of French but I know that with Potenziamento in French course the students of the third classes learned about the works of some French authors like Antoine de Saint-Éxuperi, Georges Remi, Philippe Chappuis, Jacques Prévert.
